A call to ban hands free mobile phone use behind the wheel has been launched by a Huddersfield road safety charity. Pressure group Brake is urging a tougher law to prevent ANY use of a mobile phone while driving. The use of a phone behind the wheel was first banned in December 2003 but currently the law allows drivers to make calls using hands-free devices. But Brake says hands-free conversations are just as distracting to drivers, raising the chances of an accident.
