'빚투' 급증에 한투·NH투자, ’증권담보대출’ 일시 중단

[인포스탁데일리=윤서연 기자] 최근 빚을 내서 주식에 투자하는 소위 ‘빚투’가 급증하면서 증권사들이 증권담보대출을 일시 중단하고 있다.

23일 금융투자업계에 따르면 한국투자증권은 이날 오전 8시부터 주식, 펀드, 주가연계증권(ELS), 채권 등에 대한 예탁증권담보 신규 대출을 일시 중단했다.

한국투자증권은 신용공여 한도 소진에 따른 담보대출 서비스 중단이라고 밝혔다. 앞선 지난 12일 NH투자증권은 신규 증권 담보대출을 일시 중단한 상태다.

이처럼 증권사들이 증권담보대출 중단에 나선 이유는 최근 '빚투'가 급격히 늘면서 증권사의 신용공여 한도가 빠르게 소진되고 있기 때문이다.

금융투자협회는 개인 투자자가 증권사에서 빌린 신용융자 잔고가 지난 13일 최초로 25조원을 넘은 이후 4거래일 연속 25조원대를 기록했다고 밝혔다.

다만, 두 증권사 모두 매도 담보 대출은 가능하며, 보유한 대출 잔고는 요건을 충족하면 만기를 연장할 수 있다.
